Under 11 Internal Skill Centre

 An overarching goal of the Edmonton Scottish United Soccer Club (“ESUSC”) is whenever resources allow, to provide developmental opportunities for all interested players. This includes providing training and competitive programming for Under 11 players not selected to EMSA-based teams.

Outdoor 2022 marked the first season where we offered an Under 11 Internal Skill Centre. Aligned to Canada Soccer’s vision for an inclusive training environment with a match play component, players not selected to an EMSA-based team were offered the option of staying within our club.

Each player involved in the Under 11 Internal Skill Centre enjoyed twice-weekly training sessions, with bi-weekly match play. Training was curriculum driven using a progressive, games-based approach, executed by ESUSC Technical Staff members. Match play, too, was overseen by Technical Staff, and game-day rosters were created with the developmental needs of players as a priority.

This approach was demonstrated to be highly-successful; over 40 players participated in this pilot project, and improvements were obvious to the coaches and parents involved. Attendance rates were excellent, effort levels were high, and moving into this Indoor 2022 - 23 Player Evaluation process, we are pleased to see a healthy number of the Internal Skill Centre athletes gaining selection to the EMSA-based teams.

We want to offer this same approach for players who were not selected to traditional teams, and invite you to consider this program for your child. Training and match-play dates will be finalized on or before September 19, 2022. The Program Fee of $495.00 will include all practices, match play and a Macron club kit of shirt, shorts and socks.
